On this the 89th anniversary of the beginning of the battle of Vimy Ridge,we need to take a moment to honour the 10,000 casualties of this battle,and if possible visit a local event remembering our soldiers.
With a population of only 8 Million people at the time and 600,000 sent to this great war (including many of the wars top pilot aces), not a single family remained untouched in some way. The bond formed by fighting alongside our European partners is celebrated by Europeans every year and should be done at home also.
