The Czech Republic’s leaders have chosen “Czechia” as the one-word alternative name of their country to make it easier for companies, politicians and sportsmen to use on products, name tags and sporting jerseys.

I have bought a few .com with Czechia main word. One being Czechiaflights.

Is there an opportunity being made by this name change for the domain industry ?

I was thinking of regging that one 3 days ago, so if you regged it, it was probably good choice, good luck ;)
I got VrCzechia, EnjoyCzechia, InCzechia, CzechiaProperty and few others, all in .com.

I don't know ... even if, no one will ever use that name for that country. I mean, people are still saying 'Czechoslovakia', and there is already some time passed since 1993 ...

Dunno either but people tend to call countries by their official name. Not sure if anyone is saying 'Czechoslovakia' when referring to Czech Republic anymore. IMO nope.

Depending where you live ... e.g here in Germany, everyone is still saying 'Holland' instead of 'Netherlands', if you would ask people on streets the majority couldn't even tell you what the difference is -- but however, as example, think about older people. Do you really think they will adapt to this?

This is just my opinion, no offense, I don't say that it would be pointless to reg such domains or anything else.

Slovakia and the Czech Republic are different countries. :)

Obviously, I didn't mentioned the division from 1993 without a reason. ;)

People need to get used to it, so I think the name will not be popular in the beginning.

By the way https://www.czechia.com/ is a know webhost/registrar in the Czech republic.

I wouldn't recommend buying domains with the word Czechia

In the past, there have been absolutely no sales with the term "czechrepublic" and less than 10 sales with the term "czech".
