Cuil.com - Any thoughts?

Big news is Cuil.com has launched as the new super-sized search engine in town...

Right, ex google employees, and claim to index more than google is the only reason this is in the news

I think it looks cool, but comeon... CUIL? That's a horrible name. That ruins the entire project!

I had some traffic from Cuil on the first day....tapered off after that.

- Somebody mentioned that they don't list Wikipedia sites in the search results...that is a good deal in my opinion

As long as search engines send me traffic, I dont mind another search engine out there...

So far, I'm not even sure Cuil has very relevant search results. A couple of times, there have even been quite popular terms I've searched that come up with 0 results. Until problems like this are fixed, I don't think Cuil will be very popular.

Thanks for the article link. Noticed they mention how cuil without an accent,
in Irish, would be pronounced quill which is how I would read the word. There's
probably a half dozen ways people might read cuil and that's unfortunate
because the last thing the company needs to be doing is trying to get people to
pronounce it the way they intended.

Search results are interesting, obviously they at Cuil have done something for more relevant results. Interesting that it also groups your search by some categories it identifies as relevant.

Black is annoying.

I don't like the column lay out. It's good to have the option to reduce the number of columns, but I would like an option to reduce them to ONE column and keep it that way Anyway, the most important factor is the quality of results, and up to now I am not convinced at all that they are a good match to Google's quality. Hope they improve

I say the more big money invested in search the better. Might keep google on their toes (Not that they need it). Good for them, but I wouldn't invest.

Then again, I didn't invest in google when their IPO was at $80.

I've noticed that they send traffic to my websites from keyword searches that I don't see as often from the big three search engines. If it maintains that pattern and gets popular it means a whole lot more seo work to really take advantage of it.

I was thinking "cull" as in the verb form of the word - to pick out/choose etc.
