Cuil.com - Any thoughts?

Big news is Cuil.com has launched as the new super-sized search engine in town...

Do you think they really can compete with the big 'G'?

There is no chance it can beat Google at this moment of time. Time can only tell based on the works done for this SE. Anyway, i really like the black concept of Cuil.

Hi folks,

Following on from your suggestions, we have been keeping an eye on the usage stats for the new search engine Cuil. Unfortunately, we have been watching a quick decline rather than a steep ascent to success!

Despite an impressive start, stats for Cuil have been falling steadily. It’s unfortunate that the engine couldn’t capitalise on the initial interest it generated following widespread media coverage, and it remains to be seen if and how Cuil plans to tempt many disgruntled users back to the site as the index improves. It looks like the folks at Cuil have some tough work ahead of them.

In the meantime, please find below the latest stats for Cuil - these figures show the % of searches performed using Cuil relative to the total number of searches performed.

Not looking good for Cuil (as I type the name my head is thinking Quill :hehe: -
maybe they should have shelled out the big bucks to buy Cool. ) That's a huge
drop off in traffic.

I just noticed the cuil robot crawler visited my freshly built site.
CUIL.com have quite a fast crawler.

I like the layout..but don't think it has much potential (JMHO)..I thought you had to send them a note to have your site crawled..Didn't think it did that automatically. cool stuff

Hate the speed

But hey, it might stick. Can it compete with Google? NO!
Will it be better than Yahoo/Google? NO!
Will I use it? Maybe :P

I love the color scheme to it :D Will probably stick with G though - my email's through them :P
