My employee owned company owns "ct.com". Any idea what that LL.com might be worth on the open market?

Quite frankly, the current use of this domain name is absolutely wasted. However, on the open market, you'd be looking at between 500k - 1.25 million. Not long ago - AZ sold for $500k - obviously it also is a State abbreviation - Arizona. CT being an obviously abbreviation for Connecticut.

6 Million is too high, not realistic at all considering recent sales trends. However, this name could fetch upwards of 1 million in the right circumstances.

AZ was worth way more than just the state angle

it was always the A-Z angle which made it worth quite so much, and that's what it's used for
AZ.com

ct has so many applications it's very valuable

i've seen 750k turned down on dnf for ss.com
remember these are domainers though

from a reseller/investor i think realistically high xxx,xxx is the best you will do bearing in mind the highest was $1 million for if.com and that was a 2 letter word and a huge financial/bank/credit card firm was after
having said that, that was 5 years ago

try a big auction, but then you gotta pay 15% or thereabouts
a nice problem to have ;)

anyone know why PR.com says it was registered in 1999, when it seems all 2 letter domains were all taken in 1994?

Your right, Good point. I simply compared them because they both are abbreviations for states. I happen to think CT stands a better chance at being operated as a site for the state vs AZ because of the demographics of the states. However A to Z is very common as well.

I still stand by my quoted figures though.

because some fool dropped it or failed to extend registration, so it would have been caught by a dropcatcher or one of the registries etc in '99, although would have been regged years in advance

half a million at least...

everytime I see this kind of domain,I wish I have time machine
1 letter and 2 letters.com is special, because once it drop no one be able to register it anymore (the registry will take it). I believe it add value to it.

CT is far too easy to remember. $1.25 mil to $1.5 mil looks fair.

It is worth a lot. Good two letter .com domains don't come up for sale every day. I think $500K is basically the starting price on it.
