Punk 628 bought for 37 ETH ($117,612.64 USD)

and so on...

It means that someone is laundering money.
The problem with laundering money threw crypto is, that at the end, you somehow have to turn it back again into dollars...

If you open an offshore bank account in asia, you might be able to do that of course -

but why would you then need to make-up a sale in the crypto space at all?

Otherwise, even with this sale, you still need to explain where this cash comes from,
from A to B
(when did you buy crypto, what happened with it, etc.).

And btw, best part is:

The seller bought the punk for $940 previously...

That is an 1,320,110 % increase.

This is obviously a con to trick me into renewing my nft-dotcoms. Not gonna happen!

You tell them that it came from the sale of a crypto-asset. You'll get taxed on whatever profit you allegedly made, but that's it. The money is clean.

The NFT market is dead. No one is going to blow millions of dollars on an NFT unless you're looking to launder money.
