Creating Whois privacy addresses

I see some sites offering free/paid services so they can hide their whois details, what would I need to make my own?

At a guess, I'd need to offer client(s) an address to use, an email address, and a phone number? And they can change their details to this?

Maybe i'm missing something, any help would be appreciated, thanks
