Correct term?

Hey guys,

My friend and I were recently arguing over the words 'site' and 'sight'.
He said that the correct word to use in the following sentance would be 'sight' while I said 'site': If you break the rules, you will be banned on si...

So what's the correct word choice to use?
I myself thought it would be 'site' since 'site' commonly means like a project or a place. So if a user was caught doing something bad, they would be "banned on site" meaning they'll be banned on the forums (the forums being the 'site' as it is a location or place).

My friend thinks it's sight though. As in the user would be "banned on sight", meaning once they've been 'seen' or their bad-actions have been made aware of, they'll be banned.

What's the appropriate word choice?
Site or sight?
Confused,
-Andy
