Recently picked this up. Curious what your thoughts are as to it's worth?

I bid on this at Tucows Auction. I think it went for about $5K. Hence that would reflect the rough market value to a reseller. Much more to an end user. Maybe Kinkos?!

Are you sure it was copies.com? The guy I bought it from had used it for his business, Print USA, until barely recently. He is the original owner from back in "95". It was a personal contact made by me.

I don't remember seeing this name at Tucows Auction, and I definitely didn't buy it for 5k. His expectations were "unrealistic" until he came back down to earth.

I'm no appraiser, but seems to me this would be worth at least 25k...

Yeah, I'm curious how much you actually bought it for? Can you possibly give us a ballpark of how much you got the domain for.

It hit tucows auction but they often auction names due to drop but have not actually dropped. I'm guessing it was bid on and then the owner renewed.

I'd put it at around $60-75k at the moment if there was to be a value put on it. The name is absolutely perfect for end users in the industry, however, so this could possibly even get into the $xxx,xxx region!

Yeah Chappy, sounds like that is what happened. The previous owner loved this domain and I was lucky to get it.

This was a decent investment for me. I paid 35k because I saw the end-user potential. Aside from that, it could literally mean "copies" of anything. Not limited to photo copies. Of course with 35k being a lot for me, I questioned whether or not this was a smart buy. That's why I have it here for an appraisal, to help fight buyers remorse!

The jury is still out on traffic it gets. I'll keep you posted!

Great acquisition! I like the name very much. FYI, there are 5,000 copy shops in US alone. Lots of potential buyers.
