Continent Domains

Would it be possible mabe in the future to have like Continent domains for example for North America .NA for South America .SA , since i see that europe has .eu (.na now is Namibia and .sa is saudi arabia) would this ever be possible??

I don't think it's very likely but after watching the approval of .cat extension (.cat stands for cataluña, a region of Spain) I don’t know what it’s likely and what it’s not any more.

Wasn't there an application for the .asia extension last year? I'm not sure what it's status is now though.

Probably the next TLD will be .DOG then .BIRD then .MOUSE
