Content Management System

I'm looking for a system or script that can help me accomplish something for a web site. I need to create a list of categorized entries within different subjects that can be searched and displayed by category. I also need some kind of system by which users can submit their own new entries.
Kind of a web based encyclopedia like the Hitchhiker's Guide, just much, much smaller.

CMS like PostNuke and PHP-Nuke do WAY more than I need them too and the wiki-type programs out there seem to be to arcane for my needs. This should be easy to see, display, and use, and should be mostly content, not a bunch of comments.

Any suggestions for something small scale that would work?

Try wordpress at www.wordpress.org -- probably more features than you need in this case, but it is relatively small and easy to customize.
