I know that it has been said for years that content is the king of SEO, but it just aint so.

Those posts get spam comments almost daily which I post minus the link of course. These posts compete in searches that include over 100 results. Yet, these posts continue to rank on the first place of Google based on these lousy comments alone.
These posts continue to rank well not because of quality but due to freshness of the content even if it is spam!
Content matters a whole bunch if you want to do business... It's just got nothing to do with SEO.
Mesa SEO Solutions: I see that you are still saying the same thing. Ok then, maybe you are right.
Please post the URL of that blog that gets a lot of traffic, all with duplicate content. Let's see it.
You can have lousy content (not a good idea) and your website may still rank # 1. SEO is about proper indexing and building links.
If your keyword phrase appears in your Page Title, Page Description, and it appears in your content expressed as a phrase you will be properly indexed. It's that simple... The rest of the content can be lousy and your site may rank well.
If you think I'm wrong then please show me a reference from a Google patent application that includes quality content.
It's important but not for ranking purposes.
As Search Engines become smarter & smarter, I think they would be able to recognize garbage content to some extent. Therefore to play a long term game, I would always suggest to have a good content.
Wow, thatโs sounds more a mentally challenged like a third cousin than the king of SEO

I say the same thing that JB Lions said a few posts back. If you just "found" that statement (that guide's been available for a long time), it doesn't say anything positive about your knowledge of your own business.
