Confusing email - Scam?

Hi,
I just received the email quoted below and I'm confused.
Normally i am pretty good at detecting how a scam works and whether an email is a scam and now i have this and I'm not 100% sure.

I recently bought the domain mentioned and it arrived in my account successfully, yet now I'm getting this email, is it some sort of scam or just a general "Buy our domains" unsolicited spam email?

Oh yes, and they know my name, could this be from the registrar?

Subject : "FERZ.net is already taken!"

Dear Samuel Ryan
please note that the proposed domain name is not available. Please provide alternatives.

The only thing i can think that they may want to do is inquire about buying the name. So send them an email back stating what you are going to do with the name and if they want to buy it they can give you a price.

I've never seen this type of email before either.
