I would like to get appraisals for this domain.
ComputerHardware.net

OVT from January - that's latest one :(
59832 for "computer hardware"

Google search results pages
"computer hardware" with quotation - 11,400,000
computer hardware without quotation - 430,000,000

Currently, I put up very simple site with some unique articles.
I am thinking about full blown web site and realizing it'll cost me high $ to do it properly.

I already have several domains under developments, so...
I need to see if this domain need be developed or sell just name now.

Thus, this posting :D

Thank you in advance for appraisals.

Thanks for appraisal.

Considering I never promoted, it's increasing consistently.
About 75% of traffics are from direct typein/bookmarked.
About 40% of visitors are adding my site to their favorites folder according to awstat.

It's a good name, roughly how much traffic do you get from it? I'd value it in the mid to high $xxx range to a reseller.

Thanks for the appraisal. Got 400 unique until now for June. So, not much.

Thanks.
If 60K ovt just from yahoo, I think it's safe to say at least 500K searches for the key word "computer hardware" if you count all other search engines including Google.

I still have about 20 more unique articles for the domain.
Now, if I can only find time to put it on the site :(

Nice domain. I'd give it between $800-$1400 undeveloped. Good luck.

Low xxxx, IMO.. the .com seems to be a parking page which could be to your advantage if you develop and keep fresh content on the site, but you'll always lose "some" traffic to the .com.

I'd rather see lower Google results as the term is so generic you face an uphill battle for the number #1 rank against those results. Low Google = easier to rank #1 for a term.

Thank you for the appraisal. It's true that I'll lose some traffic to .com :(

That's valid point;) However, it's plus when you are looking to sell since more pages means more potential buyers, right?

Depends, and not necessarily.. all Google results numbers show is:

computer hardware quotes = number that exact term has appeared on pages

computer hardware no quotes = results for words computer & hardware individually AND together on pages

So a result which shows the word hardware alone (as in a no quotes result) may be for cabinet or bathroom hardware and be totally unrelated. Similarly, computer no quotes may show results for a movie featuring a computer that runs amok.. so the results need to be low and specific to the term to be of any value in determining worth of a domain. Even computer hardware in quotes may show a great many unrelated results that will still rank higher because they are 1) older domains, and 2) .com's (some SE's prefer .com for a top rank, relevant or not).

This is why certain niche domains are popular and do so well.. they are specific enough to rank and do well. The more generic a domain, the more an uphill battle for SEO.

It seems like you know what you are talking about ;)

It's true when you said "The more generic a domain, the more an uphill battle for SEO."
But, that doesn't mean more generic domain has lesser value than specific term domain. matter of fact, it's exact opposite.

Computer.net would worth more than ComputerHardware.net even though computer.net will have tougher time for SEO.

I am not arguing with you. I mean, why should I?
I am grateful that you spent your valuable time for my thread ;)
I am merely pointing out that there always are two sides.

You are looking from SEO point of view.
I am looking from Domain value point of view.
And that's what I am doing here. Asking the value of the domain;)

Specific keyword, niche market, domains do have better chance for higher SE position as you said. But, potential buyer will be limited to that specific market, thus lesser value.

Domain may still be new thing, but, it can not escape from the most fundamental rule of economy, "Supply and Demand".

Domain value is determinded by supply and demand.
Almost all single word domains are general term (not specific).

As for SEO aspect...
You can always create pages for specific keywords.
computerhardware.net/storages/blu-ray.html or
blu-ray.computerhardware.net

Again, thank you for your time and your appraisal :D
