In the last 3 weeks, Ive had 3 potencial buyers tell me they will buy something for sure, so I go to the trouble at my expense of not selling them, and I wait, and continue to wait, then contact them back, with no responses. Im tired of this, why ignor, why not atleast respond. Im tired of people saying they will buy something for sure, then backing out at the last second, and ignoring me. It just drives me crazy, not to mention costing me time and money, seeing as how I probaly passed up other potencial buyers in the mean time. :| It just makes me so mad, Im sure those people know who they are. :|

I always say to buyers, that I won't hold anything back for them unless they give a deposit....

I back you on this. Anyone who makes a committment to purchase something should follow through as promised. It's rude and unprofessional not to.

You as the seller have the right to set some ground rules before "reserving" a name for someone. You can either request payment by a specific time (ie: 24 hours) or a non-refundable deposit, effectively making it an "option" to purchase, valid for a specific time period.

I'd sure like to know. Feel free to post a private message to staff.

the best method is make it clear no one is special by saying first person to pay gets the thing do not say the slae is off as soon as some makes a bid

I had this happen to me just the other day, buyer made an offer, I agreed to sell at his price, 2 seconds later they bailed out basically saying they didnt have the $...

I simply informed them that this deal and any future deals with me are OVER. They wont be getting any of my names...

I am debating whether or not to give them a negative trader rating, still havnt decided, I feel I have every right to...

Of course you have every right to. In fact you owe it to the community.
This is what the trader rating is all about.

Well, if this person had a bad track record I wouldnt hesitate to give them a negative trader rating, I have to consider all his previous actions as well... I feel he is a good guy but simply didnt think before agreeing to buy.

It's better to give the rest of us a heads up. If the party in question feel like its wrong, then they can explain themselves.

Giving someone a negative trader rating is a serious thing, it could ruin their chances of ever making a deal at NP, thus I must consider his/her previous actions, which in the case of this Member has been all good before this incident.

I wont ruin someones rep for the heck of it no matter how disappointed I am in them. I strongly feel this Member is worthy of keeping his name clear.

i think the np$ should decide about the trader ratings.

That was a joke right... simply having a large amount of np$ dont make you a good person.

Good Job!!!

Forgiveness is one of the greatest things you can do. By not runing his rep you gave him a chance to make sure he doesn't do it again

Rep points added

:great:

And he also gave him a chance to do it again. If no one questions bad business practices people are allowed to continue them.

This may have been a one off thing but we won't know. At least if a negative feedback were left there could be a dialog about it and the person could explain himself.

Or it could ruin his chances of ever selling a domain on here

but ya dialouge is essential, I still applaud the forgiveness
