These comparisons shouldn't be taken very seriously, just as the ones in the other thread shouldn't be. There are always details about sales you can't know, and you should take into account the venue and date..
But, you know, throwing all that out the window, :xf.rolleyes:

businesscollege.com 6,100 USD 2013-04-28 NameJet
business.college 3,900 USD 2016-01-21 NameJet

waterfrontproperty.com 80,850 USD 2006-05-23 T.R.A.F.F.I.C.
waterfront.property 2,450 USD 2016-01-22 NameJet

beachfrontproperty.com 32,000 USD 2006-11-25 Moniker
beachfront.property 4,750 USD 2016-01-11 NamesCon

bumperrepair.com 2,250 USD 2016-10-08 DropCatch
bumper.repair 475 USD 2015-03-12 Uniregistry

securelink.com 25,000 USD 2011-01-14 Sedo
secure.link 15,000 USD 2015-08-07 Uniregistry

eflowers.com 1,000,000 USD 2003-02-01 Private
e.flowers 4,500 USD 2016-01-11 NamesCon

helloflowers.com 14,500 USD 2012-04-25 Afternic
hello.flowers 7,500 USD 2015-07-14 Uniregistry

theexpress.com 790 USD 2015-08-26 Sedo
the.express 115 USD 2016-05-28 Flippa

globalsourcing.com 20,000 USD 2011-01-13 Sedo
sourcing.global 700 USD 2015-10-19 Afternic
(Comparing these two makes more sense to me than using sourcingglobal.com (no sale reported anyway). But if you want to dispute that, fine.)

globalvoice.com 10,000 USD 2004-11-19 Afternic
voice.global 4,800 USD 2016-05-24 DotGlobal
(Same thing as above)

careclub.com 8,890 USD 2010-01-14 Sedo
care.club 4,123 USD 2016-08-21 GoDaddy

codingclub.com 3,212 USD 2012-09-16 Afternic
coding.club 1,576 USD 2014-05-28 GoDaddy

.COM has still preference SEO wise ... gTLDs are just here.
And those sales you are showing are selected randomly? Or did you pick them up.
If i compare the gTLDs that i sold to the same ones on .com its the other way around

I just went through namebio to find them. While I was looking, I came across maybe 5 where the new TLD beat the .com, for example:

buyglobal.com 3,500 USD 2007-04-25 Afternic
buy.global 4,600 USD 2014-11-19 DotGlobal

icelandichorse.com 500 USD 2014-09-26 GoDaddy
icelandic.horse 1,000 USD 2015-11-10 Uniregistry

But the point isn't really to see who beats who, because you're right, it's still early for these TLDs. You need more sales to see real trends.. not to just look at a few sales. Or you need your own experience like you have, which is great.
I meant to show that you can cherry pick sales all day from different places and times.. and compare them as if it meant something.

I guess there just aren't enough reported sales to be able to compare a .com and new gTLD from a similar time frame and the same venue (even though that still doesn't guarantee accuracy).
There might be some decent comparisons on namebio, but I'm not going to look through every sale manually to find them. If namebio had an API..

Keep doing what is working for you. He only provided reality in the main stream, out of domainers world. Of course that discussion will never end.
The gTLDs will not survive if the domains only controlled by the registries high premiums renewal and domainers/investors, we need the end-user involvement to use them to succeed. IMHO

Just need to make a little study before gTLDs come out, pick up some premiums with regular fees and write the correct companies. Not that hard... I made 6k in the last 3 weeks investing $60 two months ago.
.COM is clearly the extension but its hard to get good ones + not everybody can effort them. It´s my opinion.. good luck!

With your approach, let's talk again after 2-3 years. Let me know if the same approach will sustain your business.

There's a way to own a premium name. I wrote this article in the past sharing how I done it.

I'm here for a long term :)
You have KILLER .com´s Watcher.. haha you are in an other division. More experience... Ok! Lets speak in a couple years. I will read your article later, have to go ;)

I think you are wrong, and google doesn't give any extra points to .com
