I'm a Swede in Asia and this is a silly thread, but I want to make it clear...

What is the plural of .com? I'm tired of writing ".com names"

Is "dot coms" grammatically correct, or even ".coms"?

If I was referring to say net, I would have no problem saying "I own many .nets".

Grammar aside, for some reason the same sounds kind of off with .COM imo.

I think you could use either and be correct. I think ".coms" is just an abbreviation of "dot coms". I would personally prefer "dot coms" but I don't see any difference in meaning between the two. I'm a brit who left school over 50 years ago :)

".coms" would be the most correct plural of ".com" IMHO.

I don't see why. But let's try this example: "I own several .des".

Now that looks awkward.

I blame the internet.

.COMs : infographics, images, when needs style : get your Premium .COMs here
.com's : most used
.com(s): formal out-bounding if I think com's is to possessive

90's bubblers can read and understand `dotcoms` as a word.

easier than .COs/co's, .xyzes (xyz's/.xyz(s))

I agree that for some reason .nets or .orgs seems more ok than .coms.

Since strictly speaking we are abbreviating saying 'I own several .com domain names" and it is an adjective, I tend to think that strictly speaking we should not use the .coms, .orgs, etc. abbreviations at all. I mean if I was in farming and had 20 brown cows, brown is an adjective, I don't think we would say we own x browns leaving out the noun.

So I prefer the long form: 'I own several .com domain names"
(or course I seem to like lots of words :xf.grin:)

Lol. Just what I thought too.

I just go with .com domains, .io domains, .org domains, .co domains etc etc.

Ok, thanks!

I will continue to use .com names/domains and probably start to use .com's, as well...

.com's or .com domains.
Correct as asking for grammar.
.com's .vs coms
dot com's vs dot coms
All could be correct but English gets complicated everyone in a school might speak it not everyone passes subject.

There is no plural of com or net, domain extension wise. IMHO.
But you are free to coin any word or phrase for your convenience.
