I have found a way to register .com domains at £1.99+tax which equates to around £2.20 or $3.05

The thing is, I am not sure the company meant for this to be possible on a large scale.

Is it ethical to showcase this?

Probably a sale, hard to say without knowing more.

It is a sale but I’m pretty sure they wanted to limit it to 2 domains although it doesnt state it in the t&c. You also need to get to the site through a particular promo link (the one they have on their google ads) and do things in a very particular way.

Maybe I should just be a good Samaritan and let them know I broke their offer!

Sorry I wont. My ethics have kicked in and just sent a LinkedIn to one of their guys asking for contact to sort the issue.
Maybe I can talk them into setting up a Namepros discount code for being so nice to them ;)

Have you registered more than 2 domains to prove the link is still working? And if yes. Why haven't you regged more domains? If the registrar is NetSol, who used to use these discount links (but don't know if they still do). Its a trap. You will notice that the amount being charged to your PayPal account, is not shown, but the amount actually charged is for their full price (what is that now $39.99?). Apart from that being underhand marketing from a large registrar. There are many reasons for NOT using NetSol as your registrar. In fact, too many to mention.

I suppose there is no harm in identifying the company, it is Nameso.

I didn't reg a bunch of domains using this as I wasn't sure if what I was doing was too underhanded or just taking advantage like a businessman would. I did however reg a small amount to test the theory and it was successful.

Like I stated previously my ethics kicked in and I have been in touch with someone at the company to try and help them resolve the flaw.

If look you deeper you will see they charge large renewal fees and a transfer out fee.

Probably why they didn't care about it then! Makes a bit more sense now that they let it slip through. I'll see what they say when I get contacted.

Update - I received a call from a lovely lady at Namesco. She appreciated the heads up. Their philosophy is to catch any trickery in the back end processing of orders. They would however have honoured the order I made or any similar as long as the amount of domains wasnt too big.

Looks like they are able to let any mistakes go ahead as with the transfer out fees, they wont ever be abused to any great extent.

Even $0.01 transfer out fee is abuse to the existing registrant. How much is Namesco.com transfer out fee?

Namesco is big fishy company, they where offering some free .co.uk & charged my credit 1 pounds. Never got a single domain, when I contacted them they asked me what I am planning to do with domains.

    What should I replied them?
