Cold Calling Scripts

So tomorrow is the big day that I start cold calling potential end-users and after reading up a couple days worth of cold calling information, I still don't know how the conversation might go.
Does anyone have a script of a conversation with a end-user?
Ex:
-Hello my name is So and so, and I am the owner of soandso.com. I was wondering if I could speak with your marketing director or (insert business owners name).
- Oh yes, I'll patch you through.

Or whatever, but when you get to the person you need to talk to you state your name, domain name and then ask for an offer or what do you say after you have stated who you are and your intentions?
Like am I supposed to be "aggressive" and tell them how this domain will benefit them, or should wait for them to ask questions?

Any other cold calling tips would be greatly appreciated as well.

Tip 1) Before you ask to be put through to the marketing director etc, ask what their name is. That way if you don't get through (for whatever reason), you have a name for calling back.

Tip 2) If your domain gets traffic, make one of your first statements be that you have regular potential customers, interested in <domain subject> coming to your website and you're trying to find a home for them :)

Tip 3) If your domains are parked, rattle off a list of advertisers that you see on your parked page. Chances are these will be competitors of the target and nothing excites a business person as much as the thought of diverting competitor's potential business towards their own.

Tip 3a) If your domain is parked & they advertise on it (good way to find potential end-users BTW), open with a "thank you for advertising on my site" then follow up with how owning the domain would effectively cut out three middle men (you, Google/Yahoo & the parking co) plus eliminate competition)

Tip 4) Politely demonstrate how their current domain name is unsuitable. Explain how it took you three times to spell forrestersonlineprintingsydney.com correctly when you were trying to find their contact details. If they don't have a website then bingo, explain how hard it was to get in touch (as it would be for the businesses customers)

Tip 5) Follow up in an email some simple points about domain names. Link to articles published in mainstream press etc

Tip 6) If they don't already have a website, let them know that buying a domain name does not necessarily mean they have to run out and spend $1000's and hours of time putting together a new website. A simple on-page with contact details is better than nothing (maybe even offer to do it for them (in fact, here's an agressive strategy, do it BEFORE you even call. (Just a basic page with their contact details) and point the domain towards it. They can't fail to be impressed & it's a good way to open the conversation.)

I could go on but probably best to play it by ear. See what works and what doesn't. remember to talk in plain English - they won't know anyuthing about domaining & may be pretty new to the internet as a whole. Good luck. let us know how you go.
