The hyphen hurts it but very brandable / a forum like this has huge potential.

Low-Mid XX undeveloped

$ky's the limit - developed

i'll say low xx +

i dont want to say mid xx because you might end up getting a value in between :)

Ok, anymore? Keep in mind that codingforums.com is a massive forum. So this domain must have some potential.

i would say around low XXX now but you could get much higher with more dev.

Actually, if coding-forums.com would be a massive forum, THEN codingforums.com would have potential.

Thanks for the apprasials so far.

It should be slightly the other way too though, shouldn't it? :)

Yes, but much less. For example, when I first heard of webmaster-talk.com and seo-talk.com, I kept typing in seotalk.com and webmastertalk.com, which led to some other unidentifiable web pages, then I was like "What is this?". So I had to check my bookmarks, and then I found out that there's indeed a dash in it.

But when I go to forums like xboxforums.net, it's not like the next day I forget and type in accidentally, xbox-forums.net. It's still possible to occur, but less likely than the other way around.

I agree with everyone else.

Most names with hyphens do not get as many type-ins as the ones without the hypens. But since you own BOTH, that is good as you will get traffic from people who MIGHT accidentally put in that hypen.

The most you would get for it undevved IMO would be around 37-42$.
But if you decide to dev it then I would think 200+ easily. PLus if you developed it you would get all the traffic that didn't put that hypen in there. :P

No, he doesn't own both. He owns codingforums.net, not the .com.

Anyway, the hyphen lowers the value, I'd say reg fee to low $xx undeveloped. Developing would be risky too, as you can lose a lot of your visitors to the unhyphenated version, which as you have mentioned, is developed.

since the non '-' forum is developed, I do not think it is even worth developing your version. I have nothing against '-' in domains, assuming the non dash is not developed.
here, you are in a lose-lose situation. You will lose traffic to the .com from your .net AND from the '-' .com to the developed .com version.
the only way sort of rectify the situation is if you put in a LOT of work in these sites as to cause enough people to bookmark your sites and distinguish them from the .com, and still you'd lose type in traffic, making it not so profitable.
IMHO, it is not worth pursuing this project or developing these 2.

Space characters makes it alittle less worth than one without, if it's developed it migh bt word around xxxx, known might make it be worth around xxx.xxx if it's undeveloped then I might say something around xx.

Only cause you have a forum on it doesn't make it "developed" cause forums are usually for free to download, but I mean if you have scripts/template/functions that are custom made that is usually the extra you get in developed but you could always get much for the domain even if you have a forum if it's known.

Thanks for all the appraisals so far :). I am defiently going to develop the .net, and I will try to sell coding-forums.com for what I can get, as it still has a year on it :)
