"Cupon" is NOT A TYPO. It is REAL WORD. I actually am a skilled, seasoned vet here, and I kinda know of this really nifty thing called Google. Look it up.

Claims that it was "just a lucky sale" mean nothing in regards to the extension. cupon.com is developed, so why are ppl shocked the .co sold for a decent amount of money? It's the same here as it is with all domains: someone saw it, was willing to pay good money for it, and did so. And it's not a typo or whatnot, so where is this disbelief coming from?

"Cupon" is NOT A TYPO. It is REAL WORD.

It is not a dictionary word, well not an english one anyway, you can go and check.

If you google it, you will see, type in "what is Cupon", it comes up with "Do you mean Coupon" and every result whne yoiu type it in has "Coupon" in the results. You can check the stats and Google searches for the 2 words, "Cupon" is obviously not the way its normally spelt.....comparing Cupon.com is not really relevant here, thats a different ball game all together

People are shocked because a name like 'Cupon" with not even the correct or most "popular" spelling of a word in an extension like .CO sells for that amount. I mean if it was Coupon.co, I would not have been surprised at all as there have plenty of other strong .CO keywords selling for more than that

Chill out though, Im not having a go at anyone, just voicing my opinion thats all, I wish anyone who has sales like that all the best, wish I had registered it :p

cupon = espanol (Spanish)
coupon = ingles (English)

Just in case anyone was still wondering. :D

I know. I'm just saying it's not a real typo. And I was stressing it but not chewing anyone out--I respect opinions :)

Cupon gets 22,400 searches along with a cpc of $1.50. Not to mention a few really nice comp sales. Cupon.mx went for $12,200. I'm just sayin' ...... not too shabby. Props to cupon.co.

If I throw RT66.co into the ring can I get some opinions?

Does RT66 refer to anything? If not, drop this. Even a 4-random-char .com (letters and numbers) is more or less worthless. And likely will be for a looooooooooong time. Sorry :)

I'm guessing it is in reference to "Route 66".

I'd drop it.

It's the most famous and storied highway in America. It's huge Americana. But it would only have value to collectors of Route 66 memorabilia.

Then again Route66.com appraises for $10K while RT66.com goes for $2K.

Check it out. It's good history.

I'm surprised people think Cupon is a typo. It's the Spanish word for "coupon." More importantly, the .com is developed, which is probably why the .co sold for that much.

I tried to point that out weeks ago. It's a great name in Spanish - good sale, Oppinus! Glad to see you're still around.

I sold Ocho(.)co a while back, and it looks like it's being used by a startup. They have a landing page up.

Storied or not, how would you market this? Who'd buy it? I see the major ext. are taken: http://whois.domaintools.com/rt66.com

But the .com isn't developed
.net is forwarded
.org is forwarded, owned by the .net owner
.info doesn't resolve
.biz doesn't resolve
.us oddly forwards to domainnamedeli.com

You are wasting money with your .co. Drop it & invest in something worth owning :D

Google it. It's everywhere. Like I said, it's good history, a novelty, but not a money machine. :gl: Nevertheless I think I should dig up The History Channel forum. :D

It's no marketable, and it's undesirable to the point NO extension of the term is developed. That shows that no one is interested enough to build on the term. I do understand why you think as you do: Locations do tend to make great domains. But these places are otherwise big and home to many ppl (like a state or country), or they have someone famous attached to them ie Graceland or Neverland Ranch. You have a domain for a HIGHWAY. It really doesn't matter its history--it has no extreme ties to anyone. And the term you have is pretty much worthless, as no one had ever developed a rt66.ext. Personally, you have something no one wants, and asking ppl on the History Channel forum would be a huge mistake, as it's full of non-domainers who'll see the worst domain possible & recommend you keep it. You'd be best to let this drop.

Unless, of course, if it's a novelty to you that you have the cash to renew. I own MentallyRetarded.net that I use for jokey email addresses. It's not much and most would say I should drop it. But I like it & could afford $10 a year to keep it :)

In this case, then there really is no reason t not keep it :) $10? Where is it registered? I thought most places are about $20/year on .co renewals.

You're right. I was thinking of Coms. Dot Co renewals go for $25 at GoDaddy.

I may have bumped into something on the renewals.

I have my names spread across a few registrars and while on one i saw $8.99 new or transfer for dot co.

I have a few coming up for renewal at GoDad and i dont feel like paying $20-29:$:
to renew them I have 4 coming due the middle of Feb.

I am going to try to do the transfer for $8.99. If it works i will post the info in here.

You can only transfer out a domain name before the 60 days renewal date.
