Well, it seems like Colombia will be releasing .CO to the internet market:

This could truly be a big competitor to .COM (especially being a "typo").
I would say with proper guidance .CO could REALLY have a bright future!

Problem with large .co portfolio is high renewal costs. I hope annual renewal fee comes down for .co to $10 - $15 range.

when i register a domain name, ususally i check weather we have plenty of developed websites on other extenstions including tlds, and cctlds. if i see rarely one or two developed websites out of 10 extensions i take for example com, net, org, biz, co, in, uk, com.au, .ca .., i do not register them.

if you see many major extensions are devloped, then go ahead and renew and wait for a buyer.
