Tried to snipe one from my phone. Shouldn't have. Lag. :sold:
Bmugford: Does your interest in the interest count as interest? In that case you could have asked yourself.

What's everyone take on the auction?

I won a few and placed some bids - Some auctions shot up in pretty quickly.

Couple of reasons why .co is not an investment extension, and is falling into fools gold territory.

Mercado.co - offer turned down - $5k(us). Sold for at auction $1650 (Eur)
Stereo.co - offer turned down - $14k(us). Sold for at auction - $1750(us)

Bummer.

"..a bird in hand..!!" tch tch

Congrats to those that made 'some' money.

All that proves is that there isn't as much appeal to domainers as there is with end users. That's a f^&*ing perfect market IMO!

Your statement has no logic. I knew you would show up with something like that. Welcome back.

For someone who likes to "Dream Believe Achieve" you sure like to crap on other people's goals.

Keep in mind that a lot of these domains were bought for reg. fee so when you consider the profit margins they are pretty damn impressive.

Anybody have the final results? Eh, nevermind, still going, just woke up and checking it now.

"I've been watching Sedo auctions for about 5 years and I've never seen these waves of last minute bidding you speak of. Why do you say these things? These types of statements are more like wishful thinking rather than rational/logical thought."

Well, that parts not true. You might not like an extension but let's try to stay in reality. People generally wait till the end to bid because that's the smart thing to do. Don't want to show your interest too early. This was supposed to end at noon Eastern, it's almost 1 PM Eastern and still have 13 names with bidding going on. And I've seen that type of thing in other auctions as well. It's expected.

I am trying to wrap my head around that one. Just doesn't make sense. Getting very reasonable offers, declining, then sending to a no reserve auction :-/. Was truly hoping for more for you guys/girls.

Calm down homey. I didn't 'crap' on anything, I just noted some reality statistics, posted by .co owners. But maybe watching someone loose out on 12K is appeasing to you, I don't know. So tell us, how many .co 'deals' did you buy today?

Yeah, not a good idea. No reserve and having an auction a couple of weeks before Christmas when that's more of a buyer's period.

"All that proves is that there isn't as much appeal to domainers as there is with end users"

Well, with that, couple of things. Don't people who have names in auctions, email end users to let them know? And then, with end user sales, don't a lot of people expect sales in $xx,xxx to end users so buying .co in $x,xxx would be future profitable?

No, If those were genuine offers then it is unfortunate that they put their domains in a no reserve auction. Not the best strategy but to each their own.

Now, would you like to address the logical error in your fool's gold assumption? The domainer market might not be as strong as it could be but end users seem to like the extension and if you're selling anything other than pigeon poop to other domainers then you're doing it wrong differently than I would :).

I bought 4 today...they were deals IMO.

Good points. I don't really know how many people reach out to end users...I would hope all of them. Reaching out to sell domains is all well and good but you will never get the prices that you would if they come to you. It's amazing how many end users don't understand the value of domains and would wonder why you would spend $X,XXX or more if you can get one for $5-20.

As far as expecting $XX,XXX that is a bit unrealistic with this extension at the moment unless you have absolutely top keywords. Of course, I would like to say otherwise but this is just personal experience. It's not impossible but a bit unlikely.

This makes absolutely NO sense.
There are hardly EVER any end users at an auction. The original owner should have taken the original offer and not submitted their domains into a NO RESERVE auction

Well Mr. Micro,

Upon the auction ending, I might say that Oppinus was quite accurate in the assessment. There were MANY last minute bids on many domains. This was the point. I don't know which auctions YOU have been watching over the last 5 years, but clearly there might be a little more "accurate" reporting necessary.

This was a nice re-seller auction. No reserve gets quite a few last-minuters.

However, daily end-user sales are the most important, as it is with the whole industry...

This was a reseller auction, no doubt about that. While, for example, the auction I was citing earlier today, SteelTech.CO @ $2,000 (which is still open) is clearly an enduser one.

Probably, most likely steeltech.com, company/registered TM.

Auction is done, the fight for jelly is over at $2,550.

I think mercado was the best and it could have sold for more.
I was personally willing to put low $$$$ on it but I was not in front of my computer. No regrets.

Putting the one ongoing auction aside, it seems the consensus here is that 'only' domainers/resellers showed up and got steals, and basically 'no' endusers got any good deals on .co domains today?!! Hmmm... and this can be derived by just looking at, and assessing the dismal prices?!? (Perhaps anonymous appraising is misunderstood.)

For "enduser" prices at an auction like this would require two endusers willing to bid to enduser price levels. Naturaly that wasnt going to happen. If there was one enduser biding against cheap resellers on a domain there wouldnt be a way to identify it as an enduser bidding.
