Wow!!! I would of never thought a hypen (-) domain would sell like that. It just shows all it takes is 1 good buyer. Congradulations on the great sale.

Make sure you send it over to Ron Jackson at DNJournal.com so he can post it on next week domain sales charts. Important to do that because the more .tv sales like this the better for us and the industry.

Thanks, Jim

Wow, well done! Were you contacted by the buyer and are you able to disclose who the buyer is?

This domain would probably have been dismissed as reg fee or less in the appraisals sec! Just shows that the real value is whatever an enduser thinks it is worth to them.

Everyone, thanks for the comments

The buyer is one of the largest co-operatives in the world so paying that price for the domain was worth it to them. What will be interesting to see will be how their development goes....

Ethics at Core of New Online TV Channel
27/03/2009

An internet TV channel is about to formally launch in Scotland with the aim of becoming an 'one-stop shop' for short films about all things 'ethical, empowering and ecological'.

Edinburgh-based Hand up Media is behind www.ethical.tv, already up and running ahead of a formal launch next week, and comprising films about the likes of fairtrade products and renewable energy.

The three year-old company has already a track record of publishing fairtrade information - including for the Co-operative - and running 'empowerment' projects, such as a short film premiered this week and made by local school pupils.

Any affiliation?

At the end of last year, one of its events, The Edinburgh Ethical Christmas Fayre, attracted 20,000 visitors.

The short film, 'Time to Take Control', was screened at the Edinburgh Filmhouse. With technical support from Hand up Media, it was made by young people from Dalkeith High School, using the animation style, Machinima. It is about climate change.

"We want people to watch the films on ethical.tv, share them and be inspired by them," says Hand up Media co-director, Tania Pramschufer.

She added: "We're passionate about promoting sustainable and ethical lifestyle issues in positive, stylish and empowering ways to help individuals to make positive changes. www.ethical.tv aims to provide individuals, organisations and businsess with a comprehensive, one-stop online library of films on ethical issues. More than ever, people are actively seeking information on ethical lifestyle issues. We will be constantly updating the site with new films, views, news and campaign updates to help keep viewers abreast of ethical issues."

The Co-operative is sponsoring ethical.tv
