.co.com question

I placed a "bid" on a .co.com today. It was actually a Backorder bid. It said $69 min. and $75 high. I placed a $150. I'm not sure on how backorders work, so my question is:
1. Can I be out bid
2. If there is 2 days left will I receive domain after auction is over are when it becomes available.
3. When I placed bid it said your bid is alot higher than the minimum bid and asked me to confirm bid. Should I have only bid $75?
I've never back ordered a domain before, so any input would help. Thanks in advanced.

yes you can be outbid. If you are bidding on the namejet auction, you will receive the name once auction has ended. Your bids are by proxy, meaning if you place a bid for $150 and auction is at $99 you pay $99, the $150 is the most you will bid. If you are the high bidder at $99 and someone else bids, the auction will go up and this is your new high bid. You will not be outbid unless someone bids higher than the $155.

You don't even think nyc.co.com would be worth having?

Nope :) You say it's your first backorder, consider putting that money toward a good .com instead.
Why make life difficult ? :)

some bids at namejet:

nyc.co.com 17 bidders high bid $72 ends in 2 days
rio.co.com 8 '' high bid $72 "" 3days
rome.co.com 6 " high bid $72 "" 3 days

Can't see a .co.com having much potential for any end user.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I know people who get confused when I tell them our website is .org.uk. .co.com is just an odd one to me.

.org.uk is a genuine third level extension in .uk, run by Nominet.
It is used by charities in the UK (generally .org.uk really means non-profit there, unlike .org that is somewhat diluted).

.co.com is private subdomain.

On the other hand, .com.co is a third level extension for Colombia, that has been in use long before direct registration under .co was allowed. Good Spanish keywords in .com.co can be valuable

You might get some typo traffic from Colombia on .co.com domains, but don't bank on it. Like the other Centralnic domains, they exist to confuse the public.
