This question has been playing on my mind for some time. It's been my own project for a while now and some business partners I have say I shouldn't offer it for free. Basically I need to make some sort of profit out of this project and I cant see how open source will provide that. How do the big open source projects manage? However I am still very interested in opening it up.

If it comes down to it and I decide not to open source it I will offer different packages including a free one. The free version would be a quick setup on my server and will come with googles ads or something.

I'm not actually set on anything yet. I want people using this system and I have many future plans for it. So overall what I want from it is to be able to continue development whilst I can make a living out of it. Do you think thats possible?

Well looks like I'm going with opensource. I just got approved and set up some sourceforge pages. The latest release is available for download from there now too.

What have you used for the WYSIWYG editor? Which third party tool is this? It was also working great.
