The very best gift you can give yourself is to wait a long time before you start registering a lot of domain names when you are a novice domainer. Whenever you get the urge to spend money registering a domain, make sure you can come up with a valid use for it. If you can think of reasons why someone could easily choose an alternative name at low cost, then don't reg that name. Instead, go put a $10 bill into a jar. After about 500 hours of reading this forum, you may start to understand what a good domain is and see a good opportunity to buy one you feel is underpriced. That is the time to go get your jar.
