Hello,

I was wondering what is considered a "Good" click through rate for a PPC type site.

Would it be 1%, 5%, 10% ??

In other words, if I had 100 pageviews and got 3 clicks, that would be 3%. Is that good on average?

I know that the higher the better, but I'm trying to optimize a few of my sites and I want to know I'm doing the best I can. What percentage do you shoot for and what percentage clicks do you get right now?

You help is appreciated.

Thank you,
Andrew

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

if i get less than 10% im concerned. my average is about 18-22% quite low because some high traffic names i have get low clicks, lot of my domains are 35-75% click rate

depends on the domain and matching it to the right keyword.
also depends on the quality and number of advertisers, from the parking program you use,

sedo is best for this, because uses google. i.e. most advertisers, most keywords

My best clickrate is 100% : 1 page view, 1 click ! :D

But with all my domains parked at sedo I've a low 4% click rate. Maybe I could optimize that ? ;)

Anything over 10% would be considered extremely good. Optimization has alot to do with your click through rate. The best thing to do is research your traffic and market it correctly. You can have huge traffic and not have a good ctr if your links are not relevant to your traffic and you can have low traffic and have great performance because your links are optimized correctly. Alot of trial and error is involved in finding the best affiliate for your traffic.

Agreed. 5-10 % is normal. Above 10% is good and below 5 % is worrying...

Hello All,

A big thank you to all who have posted. I'm currently averaging about an 8% click-through on my highest traffic site. A part of the equation I struggle with is the concern over keyword value vs number of clicks.

In other words, If I get 15% clicks on a keyword setup that pays an average $.25 per click, might I be better off getting 8% click through on something that pays $.75 per click. Right now my stance is to do the latter.

I guess this is where optimization meets the crossroads of click-through and value. Your continued thoughts are appreciated and I've enjoyed the education! Thank you again!

Thank you,
Andrew

Your totally right zesty. Right now if I am not making at least 20 cents a click I don't even bother with the affiliate. At that rate it would be better to redirect the traffic to some of my own projects. When your chasing 3 cent clicks, you are chasing to earn a dollar and making somebody really rich. Anybody still parking at that rate should really rethink their options. (I did)

HI

I have domains getting between 5% to 35% click thru rate, the more targeted your keyword to your traffic the higher your click thru rate will be... but it also depends on where your traffic comes from, and if the traffic is targeted to the domain or not,

Like they all say test, and test some more..

Thanks
