I just finished escrow for clap(.)com. I think it is a perfect name for a gift website, or a social network, or any site that leaves the user feeling good.

It is a commonly used easily pronounceable 4 letter word with unique brandability.
What are your thoughts on its value?

Hard to judge. Easily 50k depending on usage :imho:

Thanks... I assume you mean to an end user? What about to a reseller?

I wouldn't even consider resellers until contacting relevant end-users / pondering development.

Thanks, I have been pondering the end user possibilities all week, as I went through escrow!
Other appraisals are much appreciated.

Nice and short not sure about 50K but I haven't had much luck selling my domains. But I would say it is very possible to get a high figure for it since it is short and 4 letters and not just like shsd.com were they don't make a word. I would say it could be worth $XX,XXX or $XXX,XXX maybe sold fast $X,XXX. But I see so many domains just parked these days and not many sold.

Great domain, low to mid $xx,xxx

Easily $35K+ to a reseller. I wouldn't sell for less than $100K to an end-user.

I think 100k would be too high even for an end-user. The term clap is common for celebration or acknowledgement of accomplishment. I do believe there is a lot of potential, but I think I would focus in on the maker of the Clapper! But,I think its a stretch to get it for mid/high xx,xxx - I can see a reseller picking this on up for 20-25k.

Its a quality domain name, and am curious to know what your acquiring it for.

Thanks Justin,
I did not buy it for any specific development purpose, I bought it because I saw a great deal.

Clap is a common slang term here in the UK and means something totally different D-: I would'nt want it !! (but I'd still want the domain :) )

I think that "may" go against it for branding, at least in the UK

It means the same thing here in the states, although it's usage has fallen quite a bit in recent years.
