Chinese trade mark question

Hi

I have a dispute with regards to one of my .cn domain names with a large co-operate company.They are asking me to to resolve the matter amicably. Basicly I would like to know if a company has a registered company trade mark in the USA would the trademark be nulled if the same trademark is not registered in China . Would the company have to have the trademark registered in the county (China to have any right to it)

Any advise would be great .

I have had a look but I am not clued up on it I think it is pretty much the same as ICANN. Also does anyone know of a way to see if the company is actually registered in China?

Thanks for the advice guys.Tried the above site but I could not find if the name is a trademark in the county of china. Anybody know of anyway of finding if a trade mark is in use in china

The decisions I have seen on .cn names have been very biased towards trademark owners. In fact I can't recall seeing one where the respondent won.

This is interesting.

In my situation, I have an IDN Chinese character translation of a famous Western name. It is one of the top Google searches in China.

I am pretty sure that this can't be trademarked because it is simply a phonetic translation, but I could be wrong.
