I believe only short and easy-to-remember domain names are sustainable, regardless of where in the world you live and which cultural background you come from.

Now that the Chinese domain market has become a hot topic, I myself want to understand this trend too. Is there any real meaning behind each domain name sold in China? Here, I'd like to share with you what I've found as I read the Chinese news everyday.

GZX.com
GZX can stand for 更自信 (even more self-confident) which can be used in many fields such as education, self-help, and even consumer products to raise your self image.

XLY.com
XLY can stand for 夏令营 (summer camp) or 新领域 (new field) which can be used in recreation and high-tech products.

@Kassey Lee how much do you think is 996. Worth?
Sorry, I don't know its value. I'm constantly reminded of Dudu.com sold for $1m few years ago when pros were saying it could only fetch 4 or 5 figures at most.

I own 中国XXX.com which gets a few hundred hits per month so who knows. But .business is long and not popular.

When I see a new name, I usually check it using Yabla or Baidu. Yabla returns 希拉蕊 (Hillary) and Baidu shows similar result. Not sure about the commercial aspect of this name.

I've never seen this extension in Chinese domain news, and it's quite long too. Chinese like "short".

Also do .co.com domains get sold in China?
The way I see it, the world is moving to just one dot. Just look at .uk, .au, .nz etc. Even new extensions focus on just one dot, so I'm not sure how hard it is to go against the trend.

D-in our effort to find great semi pinyin names time and again we came across name&number re: caifu8.com che8888.com etc etc and LOTS of them. All regd by major companies. So when on here we hear " that name doesn't work' we really don't pay much attention if we think it does. That's exactly what we heard ( "v") about 990v.com before we sold it to China.
