I believe only short and easy-to-remember domain names are sustainable, regardless of where in the world you live and which cultural background you come from.

Now that the Chinese domain market has become a hot topic, I myself want to understand this trend too. Is there any real meaning behind each domain name sold in China? Here, I'd like to share with you what I've found as I read the Chinese news everyday.

GZX.com
GZX can stand for 更自信 (even more self-confident) which can be used in many fields such as education, self-help, and even consumer products to raise your self image.

XLY.com
XLY can stand for 夏令营 (summer camp) or 新领域 (new field) which can be used in recreation and high-tech products.

English. That's why I focus on the whole world but not just China when acquiring domain names.

Kassey, again Interesting you say that as a contact in China just mailed me confirming the same view: "To clarify - the Chinese character 八 is okay, and liked by Chinese. We just barely use domain names with Chinese characters. We are used to alphabet based domain names like you do"
As ever It is always about short easy seamless access and it would seem that alphabet based domains & single characters that signify cultural identity in the home markets will fit the bill. Slowly but surely getting to see light in the brand tunnel 八8 one and a half billion mobiles is a whole world enough for me.

and how much or whats the most a "speculator" would pay for such 7n.com's in the aftermarket? or from domainer to domainer which would be resellers.

I don't understand 7N and I am terrible in domain appraisal.

I have a domain that I think would do well in the asian market (889.ninja)

889 is a very good name to Chinese, but I'm not sure about the .ninja extension.

I am wondering what the top 10 English words or names a Chinese person would register in.com if they could choose anything?

Zhang, Wong, Kung Fu, Pizza, Wealth, Luck, Hobbits ? Name Word or Acronym curious to look for ideas.

Be aware that Wong and KungFu are Cantonese spelling (used to be King but now replaced by Mandarin). Some of the words I can think of are: baby, house, and money. These are simple English words that Chinese can understand, and they are big money items too.

It's tricky. You are right. Hong Kong has two abbreviations. My opinion is: since Hong Kong and Macau are special part of China where Cantonese is the dominant dialect, their old spelling will continue for quite a while.

yea see? I did that and yes it did say Very Intense response after copying and pasying the chinese characters from the right to the left box. but I accidentally closed the window. and when I tried to do it again it said "Full of gold" no matter what I did it didn't show .Very Intense response.
