how often do chinese providers update DNS?

I purchased a lot of domains with good traffic
but after 15 hours or so, only 1 or 2hits (or zero) on each

the non-chinese seem ok

it seems to be happening only with the chinese located ones (so the chinese users are still getting the old results) and not going to my ($$) servers!

before I purchased they were pointing at SEDO but unusally when I tried to resolve them in my web browser all I got were blank pages!!!!

thanks!

I'm kinda confused about what you mean especially the last question. So basically you couldn't visit the parking page on sedo before your purchase?
Another thing you might need to know is some IP are blocked by Chinese firewall so Chinese traffic is screened off.
Either way I don't think it is the DNS updating problem.

Before purchase I visited the sedo parking page but it just came up "blank" for each page. i.e. Just a "grey screen" (like the page had been pulled)

I have the names now in ND, since yesterday, and the stats that I was given for example some domains with 500-1000 hits a month,

But I'm only getting (it seems) 1-2 a day (=60 a month) at least thats todays figures.

Example stats for: luckyspace.org = 1000 hits+ a month
but I'm seeing 2 in first 24H

I check ND, and the names are resolving OK (from the UK) but because I think most of the traffic was CN based, I am wondering why I am not seeing anything.

Thanks.

Still having trouble. I'm getting 2 hits a day (at ND) on a domain that was sold with traffic stats of around 40 a day. Anyone help?

This is happening with nearly all the domains I got in this package!

The guy sent me stats that show he got 28 hits yesterday!
but how?????
I'm getting 2 hits and own domain!!!

Is this a NS problem???

It needs time for propagation.

Time should be from immediate to 48 hours.

maybe its not the domain that receives traffic, maybe its sedoparking.com/luckyspace.org (the address of the parked page if you url forward) that is getting traffic, just a thought

or it may just be the dns change, it can take up to 48 hrs in my experience

As I told you in the second post, it is either Chinese traffic are blocked by government firewall or the advertiser don't like Chinese traffic and block them. I'm not saying propagation is not a reason here but it is the last reason you need to think of unless it is not a .com.

Maybe I didn't explain myself.

These domains had high traffic (allegedly) before I took them over.

Now the traffic is almost ZERO.

The only changes are the whois and name servers (from sedo to namedrive).

All I can think of is that the DNS has not propogated. These sites weren't blocked 2 days go so why would they be now???

In fact the old owner was still getting traffic at sedo which implies to me that the NS change has not propogated.

I'm not happy because I paid a lot for these domains.

i'm not url forwarding, changed the NS (it costs money at gbdomains to url forward!!) and a receiving 2-3 hits max on the domains

this is happenig to about 15 domains.... before averaging 200-1000 hits now getting 1-2 a day....

There is nothing you can do with propagation. No use to angry only 48 hours to wait.. cheer up :)

Maybe it is not DNS problem...

I have a Domain receive about 400+ uniques on Sedo (About 2 - 4 clicks), but decrease to 20+ when I park it on ND. Then I move the Domain back to Sedo again and 400+ uniques also back again (Sedo shows that 90% visitors are from Japan)

I don't find the reason for it yet :(

some sites just dont like asian traffic and they wont count it. I dont know if ND is like that or not. But the majority of the asian traffic aren't english speaking people, so the thought is that from an advertiser standpoint, the traffic is completely worthless. Not all traffic is created equally.

And that's why I like DOPA.com for my Asian traffic domains. In particular, my numeric domains do much better at Dopa.com than they do at Sedo, ND, DS, etc. because the Chinese traffic is not blocked.
