chickncone.com is the website of a fast food chain which has 50+ outlets across three countries.

They've clearly forgotten to renew it.... and somebody has taken a punt on being able to sell it back to them at a profit (or, if they've gone under, on selling the domain to whoever acquires that brands IP and has a go at relaunching it)

PipeCandy was the domain of a big tech startup which was acquired, it has an astonishing 3,824 referring domains, including backlinks from Forbes, BusinessInsider, TechCrunch, and loads of other prestigious media brands. Its an SEO purchase, instant web presence.

Neither of those have been bought for perceived quality of the combination of their letters, but for their history.

@NameBio you should list SEO domains in their own category. A basic filter on number of referring domains would be enough to go on in 90% of cases.
