Cheap, Original Content?

I am trying to think of ideas to continually generate original content. I am developing a site based on current-news events.

Every day there are new 'news' topics to be covered, so...

Where could I *quickly* find unique articles based on a given keyword, news topic, etc?

Could I hold $2 contests for 1 paragraph articles? Would anyone participate? If so where could I hold these 'writing contestants'? writing forums?

Any ideas appreciated.

ah yes content writing is something which is hard to keep up on a daily basis due to the amount of work involved writing an article >.>. Well you could use RSS feeds to provide some relevant updating information or you could hire someone to write you articles on a daily basis - although that could get expensive. Its your call.

You could look for writers in the content for sale section here on NamePros.
I'm sure you could find someone that can offer what you are looking for.
Good luck.

nice suggestion pcp. I'm sure you can find someone here in the namepros community who will write articles for you.

seeing as your website will need to be updated regularly, my suggestion would be to hire a few people to do this for you. contests and such might make your site seem choppy in relation to quality, style, and posting schedule.

There are a lot of Work At Home Mom writers who would be happy to write for you at a reasonable rate. $2.00 is low though (unless you are talking very short paragraphs at $2.00 a paragraph and a larger amount for the whole article). At one Work at Home forum where $2.00 per article was offered up, the poster was driven off the boards. If I read your post correctly you are stating that you would offer $2.00 IF the article was accepted. It's a lot to expect people to write an article that MAY be accepted and then if it is only pay them $2.00.

So my thought to you would be to go to Work at Home Mom forums that have threads for writers wanted and ask for writer samples. If you like the samples hire the writers and pay them a flat rate per article. It does not have to be a huge sum but should make it worth the writers time.

Another option is to have adsense around your content and pay writers based on the ad clicks ~ more complicated.
I currently write for one content site that pays per click and have one article that has made about $160 from ad clicks in 2 months. I also have some that have made nothing.

I just started a series of websites and the writers will be compensated based on ad clicks and revenue from sales affiliate products. I am offering a very generous amount because I am new at this and I also want to reward the writers for excellent content and building this business model. As a writer I also want to be generous with fellow writers.

I do know of a number of specific places where you could find reasonably priced writers, but know of few quality writers who would write paragraphs for the possibility of winning $2.
