Eight ABC cast and crew members and three hired drivers have been charged with entering a restricted area without justification.

The group was arrested after staging a fake motorcade through Sydney's CBD and were stopped near the InterContinental Hotel where US President George W Bush is staying.

Personally I think it's very funny. But concerns me about the APEC security.

Discuss.

i'm aussie and been hearing about this all day yesturday, and today so far

but here they are saying 11 not 8 ..

i hope they get some jail time for what they did ..

they ALREADY got bail, if it was anyone else, they wouldn't of been released until monday (like the laws for apec states).

they realy need to get their arses kicked.

Sure it's funny. But what isn't is that if it was 11, say, minority Australians, I think the reaction by the security would've been drastically different.

But in this case, it's the "environment was not the place to do it in."

I think they wont get jail time nor a charge. Its police's fault. In todays Herald Son they show the passes. It even says on the passes "JOKE" and says "The chaser" Also if the security was so tight they would look in the car and see the guy dressed up.
