Why is ChannelME.TV's advertising program still only available to "US residents only"???
It's easy to turn on ads

Simply go to the “Advertising Program” section of your Manage page and follow the instructions!

Note:available to US residents only

Also please note that we have updated our Channel Owner Terms of Service and Owner Privacy Policy. The Channel Guest Privacy Policy has also been updated. All documents are available in your Channel footer and on our site.

Based on the opinions I've read posted in this forum from users who have tried their advertising program, you're not missing anything.

Ah, thanks for the info MicroGuy.

So why haven't ChannelME.TV updated their site to make their advertising service better? Worldwide would be a good start! .TV is NOT just an American TLD!!! Also, better ad-placing and better advertisers.

(Another suggestion would be to allow 'full screen' video viewing.)

At the moment I don't have time to develop all of my .TV / TV domains. If they sorted their program out I'd consider using it more.

Although there has been no official announcement, it appears that Channel Me is no longer considered a viable platform by Demand Media and for all intents and purposes is no longer being developed.

Microguy is 200% correct!

You definately aren't missing anything from ChannelMe.tv's advertising program. My Abstracts.tv will prove that. It hasn't even made $9 since January 2008. Even worse is ChannelMe.tv's attitude. If you don't ask, they won't pay. It is probably because I haven't even made a minimum of $10 for them to pay.
I haven't heard anyone bragging about making big bucks ( or more like ANY bucks!) with ChannelMe.tv. I gave up complaing to them. Nothing in return but excuses, or ideas how "I can improve my revenue". Meanwhile, I am sure they are making good money from all the ads on Abstracts.tv, and others.
So, don't worry that it not available outside the USA, it won't mak eyou any money. The only reason I keep my Abstracts.tv, is because I enjoy music, music videos, and it gives me a place to keep it all.

use this one
https://domains.channelme.tv/login.aspx?forgot=yes
login id: good-morning.tv

if not effective just change back the dns but you will lose the data
change it to our nameservers.

you mean it's not listed on
http://www.namepros.com/manage.php ?

or use the domain as login id
http://domains.namepros.com/

The name is listed in my names here at namepros but I cannot manage it here anymore. When I click on it I just get a message

There was an error retrieving the domain details. Our systems are undergoing maintenance and this domain may be unavailable through our NP$ domain management area.

You may try our backup management area:

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact support if you need assistance.

And as I have no way *at this time* to log into my account at channelme, I cant do anything with it. All I wanted to do was change the NS did I change the whole name to channelme??

login id should be either your domain itself or your email address here in namepros.
see it first if you can manage from
http://domains.namepros.com/
using domain name as login

The wife who loved the platform for sharing her videos of the kids.....no refuses to use it.

Up until recently, the last month or so, she was able to upload videos there and they took care of the conversion and hosting.

Now they only allow embedding from other sites.

She said something like: "If that is the case, why would i do that rather then just having a youtube custom page or something? Is there anyway around this?"

My immeadiate thought was that DM again missed the boat when it comes to their ideal demo: people who would gladly pay $25 for thier own self contained site.

My next thought was that in the end, using something like PHPMotion with a template would yield the same, if not better, results.

STill comes down to the cheapness of DM. Cheap cheap cheap

ChannelMe is foul for not fixing the upload problem. There are alot of folx who purchased those domains with the explicit intent of uploading their own content. Not cool to do people like that.

Why don't people just upload to Youtube.com, and then grab it? Isn't this the same, or even better? I have uploaded around 70 videos to Youtube.com , which most I grabbed, and put on Abstracts.tv?
I am not defending Channelme.tv, in any way, because their advertising program sucks big time. This way, people can still upload their videos, just another way. This way that wife can still upload videos about her kids. I downloaded a free, and easy to use conversion program to take care of the conversions.

The entire point is that she wanted an all in one site.

If she has to use youtube, why even bother with channel me?

For the little person (READ: NOT A DOMAINER), who doesn't care if they get their own domain name or a youtube folder.......the only upside to channel me for that type of user was an all in one site. Now that that is gone, joe six pack can easily just do youtube.

My guess is that Demand is actually hoping that channel me dies off quietly because they didn't know jack shit about how to do it in the first place.
