.tv Channel vs. Channels

One angle that still seems to remain unexploited is by registering and developing ____channels dot tv . As I see it, one could take the approach that this site is more of a portal, where one could find multiple 'channels' of interest in one location.

Many fairly nice domains are still unregistered, though I have been wondering if this is because the angle has not been exploited or because the demand is simply not there ( or, thirdly, if it is because the idea sucks, lol ) .

For example, here are some available domains:

GameChannels.tv
GayChannels.tv
AutoChannels.tv
MediaChannels.tv
OutdoorChannels.tv
RacingChannels.tv

OutdoorChannels.tv could be a portal where one views fishing videos, or camping videos, hiking videos, etc., all segmented into a 'dial' of sorts, or their own specific channel.

Although the singular is a sure fire best bet, what are your thoughts on the plural, good idea, bad, etc.?

One other thought, if you were developing a network of similarly themed channels, such as hiking.tv fishing.tv hunting.tv , etc., then outdoorchannels.tv really could be a portal, bonding your network traffic together......

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

To me, the only way "channels" works is as a portal.

The biggest disadvantage I think would be losing traffic to the singular.tv, the pluraltv.com and the plural.com. But still, there might be some domains that are good enough to withstand that traffic loss and still be profitable.

Rogue,
I think this would be a tough preposition when .TV's already have limited traffic and/or generate income. Unless the site is development, this may not be the best exit strategy. Just my two cents.

Thanks,

"S" for a directory, but I don't know that there are enough niche channels/video sites to warrant a directory...
