Hi,
I'm working with someone starting a new website. We've recently changed the page names so there more search engine friendly.

(domain.com?page=dfsdf_sdfdsf&model=44

to

domain/dfsdf_sdfdsf/model_name

sort of thing)

Google did index a load of the old ones and is starting to index the new ones. The old ones aren't used on the site but Google still has them in it's search results. What can we do to update the URLS to the new ones...will google automatically remove them, as if you enter in the old URL you will be shown the correct page and we haven't redirected it or anything.

Any advice to what we should do is much appreciated!

Google will slowly sort them out.

You can always help it along by typing your current urls into searches - google pays attention when people search for a specific web page and this can help get your new links indexed much faster.

I wouldnt worry too much about it if ever i do something similar i re-submit my sitemap to google webmaster tools.

Things will be updated in time to reflect the change anyway.

you dont want duplicate content on your site and now the way it it, you have 2 pages with same content. you can redirect the old pages to the new ones and use "noindex" tag on your old pages so that google dont index them on its future crawl
