Right now my website description are as followed, they have been like this for years and I somewhat worried about changing them although they seem more "keyword" than description.
Bass Fishing Tips,Bass Fishing Videos,Bass Fishing Forum,Bass Fishing Resources,Your internet resource to Bass Fishing Information,Bassin Tips,
will changing the description of a website drastically change the search engine ranking?

Should I change it to make it more descriptive, or would changing it effect my ranking in search engines? I'm am ranked fairly well on most keywords on both yahoo and google.
Idea's? Thanks

I would change it to be more read-able since this is often the block of text that is displayed in search engine results. You can still include the same keywords but make it easier for a human to read. Google doesn't favor the meta description as heavily as the title tag and the content of the site so it shouldn't have a negative impact. I would consider something like "Bass fishing tips, videos and resources. Connect with other fisherman in our fishing forum"

you should definitely change it to be more like a description, because right now it's like keyword stuff. if you have enough search engine optimized content on your pages you shouldn't have to worry anyway.

also, having a meta description like that significantly reduces clickthroughs to your site anyway.
