domain Century21.info (why did traffic increase!!)

Hello,

Suddenly this domain Century21.info started to have an increasing number of traffic, it's parked on sedo and it got minimal traffic, but this month it started to get an average of 12 visits per day! I checked the other extension and most are taken by a real estate site Century21.com, so i was wondering does this increase of decrease this domain's value? would it be a good idea to contact them and see if they'd be interested or is it actually illegal for me to own this domain?

Century 21 do have a trademark (not too suprisingly) so you would be walking into the lions den contacting them. Keep your head down, monetize the name and wait for the CAD order.

I have Century21.pro and have also noticed alot of traffic. But it could be due to the fact that the TM attorney is aware that I have that domain and have had discussings regarding my thoughts that it is not a TM violation when Century21 has Century21.com TM'd and Century21 as a phrase for marketing real estate.
As long as you are not trying to steal traffic from them, I think you are ok. If you would want to sell it to C21, find an agent rather than the corportation.

I would not contact them.They could take it Away from you.They may have started up some big promotion and thats whats increasing traffic.

Yes, they are a real estate agency, but there is corporate and there is franchiaise, which the agents own and would love to have a name like this. Corporate, however could stir up a bunch of stuff and try to take the name, they have the money and attorneys. Some of the agents have even TM'd Century 21 with the name of their franchaise, like Century 21 Mountain Properties (an example).

There are TM's for Century 21 doing business as a clothing store in New York, Century 21 doing business as a computer company, Century 21 World Fair in Seattle (I for get which year), Century 21 doing business as a real estate company with a specific logo and Century21.com that is the same company, but their web site and as I mentioned several others for their agents. This is just a short list of TM's for Century 21, which is considered a generic term!

You could actually go in and spend $365 online and have it TM'd for web hosting and there is nothing they can do about it...(according to my attorney).
