CentralNIC extentions reliable?

I wanted to register a domain for myself (not for selling purposes) but the extention I wanted is taken. :( I see however that, while the domain is taken in most regular TLDs, it is still available in the .eu.com subdomain which would make sense as well as I am from the EU.

My question: how reliable are these subdomains? I know CentralNIC have been operating without a problem for over 10 years, so I'd expect them to be reliable. But are they really reliable, or is it advisable not to use the service?

It's a subdomain. As long as you know that and plan on use rather than sale, it really won't matter. They have enough registrations now to probably insure they stay in business.

It would be for use, not for sales. But is CentralNIC stable, as in: never had any downtime or problems with any domains they own?

Well,
I own a domain hack in de.com, see my signature. No problems so far! :)

I like it that change of ownership requires a signed paper to be posted or faxed. Is that the same when you buy your domain through a reseller or is that only the case when you buy directly at centralnic.com?
