Celebrity Name Typos

I am new to this and just have a few domains. However with some research I have become interested in setting up some typo domains. I see alot about the legality of typo's and trademarks. I do not see much regarding names. Is a persons name considered a trademark? Basically if you take John Doe and create a typo of John Doe's name that gets a lot of hits because he is in the news, can John Doe do anything?
I know I'm a noob, so any help is appreciated!

I would be cautious with any typo domains. I owned a few in the past for high profile sites and receieved little to no traffic. Make sure its a great typo like minicip.com for miniclip.com which receives great traffic before you buy.
