Hello, i am thinking about setting up a local registrar for my area and im wanting to know which is the best reseller for .com.au domains. The reseller account must be easy to use and customizeable and has the cheapest prices.

If anyone has any recommendations please post here.

Thanks

Morgan

Can i reg a .us if am not living there?

Nope.

The hapless domain name Video.us has changed hands once again. It was purchased in April, 2007 by a European company, which paid $75,000 for it. That was the biggest .us sale this far. Then the most extraordinary thing happened and the domain name was dropped where it was catched by the famous Pool.com.

The owner of the domain name video.us was found to breach the law failing against the registryโ€™s Nexus requirements. To cut the long story short, you can hold a .us domain only if you are a US citizen or have a business registered within States.

This was one of the biggest mistakes made in domain industry within recent years. Also Afternic - the company which sold the Videous domain name - is under a question. They shouldnโ€™t have sold the name to a company that is not registered in USA.

You can under Nexus Category 3 if you satisfy the criteria, viz:

3.A foreign entity or organization that has a bona fide presence in the United States of America
or any of its possessions or territories [Nexus Category 3].
Prospective Registrants will certify that they have a โ€œbona fide presence in the United Statesโ€ on
the basis of real and substantial lawful connections with, or lawful activities in, the United States
of America. This requirement is intended to ensure that only those individuals or organizations
that have a substantive lawful connection to the United States are permitted to register for usTLD
domain names.

Categories 1 & 2 relate to US Citizens & Corporarations etc etc:

1.A natural person (i) who is a United States citizen, (ii) who is a permanent resident of the
United States of America or any of its possessions or territories, or (iii) whose primary place
of domicile is in the United States of America or any of its possessions [Nexus Category 1],
2.A United States entity or organization that is (i) incorporated within one of the fifty (50) U.S.
states, the District of Columbia, or any of the United States possessions or territories, or (ii)
organized or otherwise constituted under the laws of a state of the United States of America,
the District of Columbia or any of its possessions or territories (including a federal, state, or
local government of the United States or a political subdivision thereof, and non-commercial
organizations based in the United States) [Nexus Category 2],
