Hi there,

In the perspective of acquiring a series domain names I am hesitating between three choices of extensions: . CC .TV or the latest .BZ.

I know that .com or .net, -even .info and .biz-, are more valuable but the names I have chosen are not available with them. I am not attracted by .WS which seems (I may be wrong) to me weak.

I am hereby calling the NamePros.community to guide me in this choice. Which one of the three would you vote for and for what reason ? Is there any specialized site where I could get information, stats and analysis about the today development of domain name extensions ?

I am grateful for all advices and opinions the community could provide me.

With thanks,
Argos.

Welcome to #1 Namepros, Argos. :)

IMHO, I would "rank" the three (3) "country code" extensions that you have provided among the very bottom of the domain name nomenclature. I would add .WS to this list, as well. Generally speaking, they are among the least sought after (undeveloped) domains. There is some information on this site regarding these extensions, and others ... as well as resources on the internet. I'll try to revisit here later tonight with some more information to help guide you in your quest. I'm sure other's will post, as well.
Best of Luck.

.cc is for cocos (keeling) island probably the size of a peanut and two computers (one with internet access)

theres actually many extensions to choose from but the popular ones are the best

list can be found here: http://www.domainsdiscounts.com/country.html

Thank you CoolHost and DotLeader for your prompt & kind reaction.
I have just discovered that .TV is at least listed at the front page of GreatDomains, which is/was, from what I know so far, the most important domain name broker site. Is it a sign of the future development of this 'new' extension ?

regs,
Argos.

I think that would be a very bad assumption, IMHO.
That is the same site that listed as having sold "Beauty.CC" for $100's of thousands of dollars ... and from what I'm led to believe, that was a bogus sale.
Buyer beware, Argos.

I understand that I have to be a bit creative and play with good combos of words but stay with well-known top level extensions than one word names with unused/useless tlds. Thanks again for your reaction and... congratulations for your site, good looking, accessible and efficient in its dynamic content. I also appreciate your nice welcome and help to beginers like me.

Best regards,
Argos

I just don't like any of those. They are overpriced, and no one remembers those extensions. But since you want a series, that is different. Go with the .cc. What the heck is .bz?
