Hi all,

I'm thinking of starting up an online casino on my forum which will use a system similar to NP$. I will allow people to earn these by posting, and buy them like in the bank.

My question is the casino part. Is this illegal? Nobody has to give me $0.01 if they want to play it, only if they want to buy some of the money (as I said, similar to NP$).

You're going to have to do your research. There is tons of laws on online casinos and all types of gambling.

It uses the fake currency (as I referred to, similar to NP$).

If your site is hosted in the US, you may have a problem allowing gambling on the server. Online casinos use chips with monetary value, which seems to be basically the same idea with your site and is still considered gambling. :tu:

The problem arises if you decide to allow a "cash out". If you do not allow the points to be transferred to real cash then you are in a better position. However you should still seek legal counsel.
