Sounds reasonable, a lot of these countries with these "crappy" extensions that no one has heard about have a lot of money flowing in their economies. We are going to see a lot more of these high price ccTLD sales as countries develop and value domain names.
Still. Doesn't make much sense to me!.ro is very popular in Romania. There is a real local market. It's not like those oddball TLDs à la .cc .tk or .io.
.ro stands for Romania.
Right now I think there are more than 16 million .ro domains registered. So not really a crappy tld.
By doing a simple research we learn that casino.ro was purchased by Blexr Limited, a company with offices in Malta and Barcelona, Spain.
