The following passage is from www.nic.ir:

"H. Restricted or Forbidden Names
Applicants for names of religious significance must provide written approval of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

Domain names that suggest illegal activity or are publicly offensive are forbidden."


NOTE: I tested the site's registration request of casino.ir and it returned the following message:

"casino.ir is NOT available for registration"

If casino.ir is prohibited, then something tells me that the plural version is too.

So if gambling is illegal in Iran, then you might want to dump your domain because the clerics might interpret your registration of casinos.ir as "sugggesting" illegal activity.

good post homebuyer, although take a look at poker.ir...Also, related to gambling..and has been registered since 2005...Don't think there has been any problems there..Plus, from what I know..and have read..gambling is not illegal in the middle east. Can anyone verify this?
