A while ago I asked for some appraisals on BRILLIANTCARS.COM
None of the respondents felt it was worth more then reg fee as according to them the two words dont go together. "Cars cannot be brilliant I was told"
I post the following to prove a point

Some search engine excamples
Main Entry: brilliant
Part of Speech: adjective 2
Definition: famous
Synonyms: celebrated, eminent, excellent, exceptional, glorious, illustrious, magnificent, outstanding, splendid, superb
Antonyms: normal, typical, uncelebrated

yup, since you're sticking to this like a burr on a polecat's 'nads, I'll finally comment today :)

Definitely not reg fee, to me; but not brilliant value, either; many, many good descriptive words to marry with 'cars'; this one is a bit long and flashy, obviously appealing to someone who'll erect an unusually keener site around a particular make he likes, or about a class of cars in general -- could range from brilliant reliability, to perfomance, price, looks, antiquity, a lot of different possibles... or even a general site on all of them.. it's a versatile name.
It's not a name I look at and immediately feel I'd have to have it, if I wanted to build such a site... but it's a nice word, has some attraction, and just might be the right name for some person/magazine that's trolling for a flashy site name.
Developed, as you know, is where you'll get more coin for it; but I'll appraise it just as a name:
resellers - anywhere xx, but prob not over xxx unless they personally envision a strong sales pitch for it.
end users - it's a serviceable name, not with Kool but with some flash, so might be attractive to the right person/project: low xxx, to med xxx. Probably no higher -- they'd probably just try coin their own name if you asked too much for this kind of name, IMscroungingwiththedogsHO.

There's no searches for "brilliant car(s)" on OST and for brilliant itself, only 5402. On Google, "brilliant cars" brings up 1,350, which is not a lot for "adj cars". I think overall though, it's more of the weak domain strength of the word brilliant than its strength specifically with cars that hurts the name. I searched all the following, and .net was only taken in 2 of them (the ones in all caps): brilliantcar (.com still available on this by the way), brilliantcars, brilliantdomain, brilliantdomains, brilliantsex, brilliantporn, brilliantteen, BRILLIANTTEENS, brilliantloan, BRILLIANTLOANS, brillianthome, brillianthomes, brilliantbeauty, brilliantgame, brilliantgames, brillianthotel, brillianthotels. IMO it's just not a good domain word. I think your domain is mid xx at best, with a tiny chance of someone liking the looks of it, not wanting to simply buy the .net, and will pay more than that. Good luck.

Cool Thnx Crooky for investing all that time in research. Hey !1...What do you think of SUPERLATIVECARS.COM by the way??? :)

BrilliantCars.com may have more of an audience in Great Britain where "brilliant" is used more like Americans use "cool" or "wonderful." Other than that it sounds more like an ad for car wax...which you might consider.

SuperlativeCars.com might be good for a niche market (as opposed to SuperbCars). It's also a little awkward to string together. You could probably trade it straight across to bannen for the cat with the bur on its 'nads...and give it to crooky to lift his blue pall a bit.
