canoé.com 92 OVT with extension


Just found and registered this one.Certainly the fact that is has OVT with extension gives it a bit a value right off the bat,and it's also a simple French generic word.
I also believe that Canoé.com has a much higher OVT in France since France OVT doesn't differentiate the accented letters in the OVT results.Example:
Telecharger.com USA OVT 9340 with EXT
Telecharger.com FRANCE OVT 424802 with EXT
Télécharger.com (IDN) USA OVT 1969 with EXT
...there's no way to get the IDN number on the France OVT,but if the numbers on the non-IDN are any indication it's about 21x more.

I just parked it at Sedo so I should have some traffic stats soon..ANYWAY,I'd like some opinions on this one...do you think any end-user will ever want it? Or am I destined to just reap PPC revenue from it? Value? Thanks!

The only reason there is OVT with extension is because this is the news portal of one of Canada's biggest media conglomerates. Oh and they are also one of the world's largest international commercial printing companies. See:

Ahhh..that may be it! It seemed unlikely that so many Frenchman were into canoeing .I've actually never heard of them (I'm in the US).I just went to thier site..the Canadian page uses canoë.com (which is taken)."Canoé" doesn't actually appear anywhere on thier pages,they don't use that spelling I'm guessing? But still,a generic French word,we'll see what happens.

Québecor are all over the USA and the cedilla on the ë is just design, the correct spelling of their French news portal is canoé.

Are you sure? All signs point to "canoë" being the more common way:
Canoë: 400,000+ Google
Canoé 58,000 Google

And "Canoé" doesn't appear on any of the canoe pages,but "canoë" does many times.Seems to me the umlaut is the more used/correct way and the acute accent is the less used.
At any rate,they don't even own "canoë.com" which was registered back in 2001,so it's unlikely they would want my lesser used version.

That's one of the drawbacks with IDN domaining and not knowing another language or culture. It's also one of the reasons I hesitate to enter the lucrative .de German name game.

Both spellings are correct and canoé/canoë have the same definition. However ask French people here how to spell canoe and most will opt for canoé which explains the OVT w/extension being higher on the later.

I didn't mean to spoil your find, you might want to develop a canoeing landing page rather than opting for sedo's just to be on the safe side
